Modernisation of existing plants
transresch are specialists when it comes to modernizing existing converter equipment.
Where is modernization of interest?
- Modernization of existing d.c. drives is worth thinking of on all applications where complex medium-power and high-power analogue converters are being used as, for example, in rolling mills and cement plants, in paper-making machines, excavators and other installations.
How would be modernized?
The extent of modernization will depend on the state of the existing equipment.
- The old data and control electronics, including its hardware interface with the power circuit components, will be replaced by high-grade digital data and control electronics using various bus systems for communiction with the automation level.
- Replacement of auxiliaries.
- Replacement of power circuit components, if necessary.
- Existing direct-current motors can also be included in the modernization project (examination and overhauling or, alternatively, supply of new d.c. motors).
What will be customer’s benefits?
- Short downtimes of the installation during reequipment.
- Specific process requirements can be met.
- Considerable cost reduction due to reusing high-cost parts of the euipment, such as cables, circuit breakers, transformers and, possibly, power circuit components.
